Togo : Prices of imported products exempt from VAT

8 days ago | by: David Kodjani

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Local Consumption recently unveiled on Wednesday details of the maximum sales prices of imported products exempt from Value Added Tax (VAT).

The information was given on Wednesday 11 May on the ministry's twitter account.

This occurs in a context where the country is facing a situation of high living costs. This situation is obviously due to the increase in prices of basic necessities and petroleum products.

This increase in prices, linked to the war in Ukraine, is causing a lot of gnashing of teeth. This revelation by the government is therefore aimed at combating this high cost of living.

The price of 70g of concentrated tomatoes is set at 100 CFA francs throughout the country.

The price of sweetened condensed milk in 1kg cans is 900 CFA francs in the Greater Lomé, Maritime, Plateaux and Central regions and 1000 CFA francs in the far north of the country.
